Fulbright Exchange
Sally Wallace, who teaches world languages at Tomahawk Creek Middle, will swap jobs with a teacher
in France through the Fulbright Classroom Teacher Exchange Program. For the 2010-2011 school year, Wallace will teach in Chambery, France, and Floriane Cardon will join the teaching staff of Tomahawk Creek Middle. Wallace is one of just 60 U.S. citizens selected to travel abroad through this program, which is sponsored by the U.S. State Department.

Fourth-grade students at Watkins Elementary created a map of Virginia from 180 handmade tiles featuring people, industries, cities, schools and state symbols. In addition to being on display at the school, the Virginia mural is also part of a book titled “Create Their State” that features student creations of every U.S. state.
