Meeting
Minutes for October 12, 2009
Mrs. Carpenter moved that the School Board enter into
a closed session in accordance with Section 2.2-3711 (A)(2), Code of Virginia,
for discussion and consideration of admission or disciplinary matters
concerning students – 2 items. Mr. Rajah
seconded the motion, and the Board entered closed meeting at 2:12 P.M.
Mr. Rajah moved that the Board end the closed meeting;
Mrs. Carpenter seconded the motion and the Board entered regular session at 3:08
P.M.
On motion of Mrs. Carpenter, seconded by Mr. Omarh,
now, therefore, be it resolved that the School Board hereby certifies that, to
the best of each member's knowledge, (i) only public business matters lawfully
exempted from open meeting requirements by Virginia law were discussed in the
closed meeting to which this certification resolution applies, and (ii) only
such public business matters as were identified in the motion convening the
closed meeting were heard, discussed, or considered by the School Board.

Mrs. Carpenter moved that the School Board not uphold
the recommendation for expulsion in Student Cases 2009-2010/01 and 2009-2010/02;
setting a long-term suspension thru the end of the current school year in both
cases. Mr. Rajah seconded the motion,
which was approved unanimously.
