More teachers attain National Board certification (news release)
Thirteen additional Chesterfield teachers recently achieved National Board certification, which is one of the highest credentials in education. That means that a total of 78 National Board Certified Teachers are working in Chesterfield County Public Schools.
According to the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards, Chesterfield County Public Schools ranks fifth among Virginia school divisions in the total number of National Board Certified Teachers. A voluntary assessment program designed to develop, recognize and retain accomplished teachers, National Board certification is achieved through a performance-based assessment that typically takes one to three years to complete.
