Complete a GED class and save $45

By 2012, according to the Virginia Department of Education, 70 percent of job opportunities will require a technical skills certificate. A high school diploma or GED is required in order to obtain a technical skills certificate. That is why Chesterfield is offering a free GED test to adults who complete 60 hours of GED instruction; the test normally costs $45.

Registration for spring GED classes starts Jan. 11. Classes begin Feb. 8 at seven sites throughout Chesterfield County. The cost is $50 for 14 weeks of GED instruction.

For a registration form and details about orientation and assessment sessions, go online to chesterfield.k12.va.us or pick up an Adult Continuing Education program guide from any Chesterfield library.

For more information, call the Office of Adult Continuing Education at 768-6140.
