Classes help GED graduates transition into college

Free classes and educational counseling are available to GED graduates who want to continue their education in college.

The Adult Continuing Education Office of Chesterfield County Public Schools is able to offer free classes and educational counseling thanks to a grant from the Virginia Department of Education.

Offered 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m. and 6:30-9 p.m., the transition classes begin March 15 and continue through May 20. The math transition class, which will meet Mondays and Wednesdays, will cover advanced algebra. The writing transition class, which will meet Tuesdays and Thursdays, will prepare students for college-level composition. Students are expected to attend 60 hours of instruction.

Educational counseling offers help finding the right career path, researching educational options and filling out applications and financial aid forms.

For more information, call Adult Continuing Education at 768-6140.
