and Group Life Insurance
Retirement and Group Life Insurance benefits are provided to all full-time employees through the Virginia Retirement System (VRS). The Virginia Retirement provides members and their beneficiaries with benefits at retirement, or upon disability or death.
Chesterfield County Public Schools offers a supplemental retirement program to eligible full-time employees. In order to participate in the program an employee must:
Retire from a full-time VRS covered position with Chesterfield County Schools
Have a total of ten years of employment with Chesterfield County Schools, including the five years immediately preceding retirement
Have at least 20 years of experience
Be at least age 50
Not be eligible for disability retirement
